When the Foundation Diminishes
After tooth loss, the unused jawbone at that site gradually resorbs ('use it or lose it'). Without the daily loading from chewing through the tooth root, the jaw diminishes in both height and width.
- •Insufficient Hold: Without adequate, solid bone volume, dental implants cannot be securely anchored, as they simply lack the foundation.
- •Visual Changes: Significant jawbone recession can, over time, cause the mouth and cheek areas to lose some of their structural support.
- •Concerns About the Procedure: Many patients initially have reservations about the treatment because they fear unclear healing phases or the use of synthetic bone substitute materials.
With a minimally invasive bone graft (augmentation), we can biologically rebuild missing volume and optimally prepare the jaw for an implant.

Why Your Own Bone Is Often the Proven Choice
At MEDICAL ART, we prefer to work with your own bone tissue. This allows us in many cases to completely avoid synthetic or animal-derived substitute materials.
Your autologous bone brings living cells and natural growth factors with it. This enormously supports the healing process and provides biologically excellent conditions for the planned dental implant to later heal reliably and securely. Since we work exclusively with your own tissue in this procedure, the risk of rejection reactions is also significantly reduced.

The Advantages of Our Surgical Method
High Compatibility
The use of the patient's own bone optimally supports the body's natural healing processes – generally without foreign tissue.
Three-Dimensional Planning
With modern 3D X-ray technology (Digital Volume Tomography, DVT), we create a very precise image of your jaw beforehand. This enables a gentle and minimally inv
Good Integration
Thanks to the living, autologous cells in the grafted bone, the remodelling in the jaw usually progresses very quickly and stably.
Calm Care
Procedures on the jaw require a sensitive touch. Our surgical team takes plenty of time for you and explains every step in detail.
Experiences from Our Clinic
Investment in a Secure Bite
A solidly built-up jawbone is the most important prerequisite for implants to withstand the forces generated during chewing in the long term.
Our goal in the build-up is to maintain your foundation functionally and long-term. To keep you flexible, we offer straightforward instalment payment plans through an external billing centre.
The Cost and Treatment Plan
The effort depends heavily on how much bone is missing and where exactly in the jaw the grafting takes place (e.g., sinus lift in the upper jaw).
- ✓Based on our 3D X-ray image, you receive a transparent and binding cost plan before treatment.
- ✓Routine dental implants and the preparatory bone grafting are considered purely private services and are generally not covered by statutory health insurers in Germany.
The Bone Grafting Process
Digital Diagnostics
We create a 3D scan of your jaw. This shows us precisely how wide and high the remaining bone volume is.
Bone Harvesting
During the gentle procedure, we harvest some of your own bone from another well-healing site in the posterior lower jaw.
The Grafting
This autologous bone is precisely placed as fine material at the site where the implant is later to be positioned.
Supporting the Healing Period
After several months, the jaw has remodelled the material into solid, load-bearing bone tissue. The implant can now be placed securely and stably.
Treatment Without Fear
A surgical bone graft initially causes a small shock for many people – this is completely normal and understandable. At the MEDICAL ART clinic, we want to relieve precisely these concerns through education and empathy. If you have significant apprehension, we also offer the procedure under proven, specialist-supervised general anaesthesia.
Mehr zu unseren Comfort-Optionen →For implants that are meant to accompany you long-term, a healthy bone foundation is indispensable. We reconstruct it most gently with the power that your body itself provides.
